Deceased Relatives?

Was watching one of my Freakazoid! DVDs and spotted the guy on the right in an audience of villains in the segment called "The Lobe." I was like "Wait, what? Who is this guy, I don't remember him being in any of the episodes. Is this supposed to be a cameo by Tex Hex, from Bravestarr?" So, I did some Googling and find out that this guy is named Kid Carrion, though he was never named in the show. He was one of the concept villains for when Freakazoid!, created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini of DCAU fame, was meant to be a superhero *action* show with *some* comic elements.

Now, accusations of plagiarism were leveled at Bruce Timm for Freakazoid's similarity to a character called The Madman. Had whoever held the rights to Bravestarr at the time been paying attention, especially to this concept art of Kid Carrion [[link], I'm thinking that they might have cried foul over that. I know Tex Hex probably isn't the first zombie gunslinger in a drawn medium (and certainly wasn't the last), but still, you have to admit, the similarities are uncanny, especially with the purplish skin in the concept art.

Also, the only line of dialogue he has is in one episode, and it's a little bit higher than normal pitched evil laugh (provided by Jeff Bennett), seen in this video at about 7:30. [link]. See Tex's signature laugh here at about 0:33. [link]

Other weird similarity: in some internet articles I have found, though I don't remember hearing it called this on the show, Tex Hex's gang was called *The Carrion Bunch.*

P.S. No, I will not do a side by side comparison of these two and Bubba-hotep.
